Background & Experience

Michella (Ella) Canning is a Project Manager and part of the Clinical Trials Office responsible for facilitating the planning, implementation and post implementation phases of various clinical research projects for multiple departments within Maine Medical Center (MMC) and participating regional hospitals. She is responsible for determining the appropriate qualitative and quantitative measures to evaluate progress and successful implementation of these projects so that will result in measurable improvements that will impact clinical, administrative, financial systems, and the infrastructural systems of MMC and that will benefit our patients, families and staff.

Ella has over 5 years of experience in various roles within the Clinical Trials fields. She graduated with a BS in Psychology from the University of Vermont and started her first post-college job as Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) in Boston, MA. After 3 years as a CRC, she took on a new role as a Regulatory Coordinator for DFCI and stayed in the role for 2 years prior to moving to Maine where she joined the MMC family.
