Background & Experience
Deb Burris is Lead Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator in the Clinical Trials Office at MHIR. Deb has been at MMC for 35+ years with more than 15 years of clinical research experience. She has been in the Coordinator Float pool since 2005. Prior to clinical research she has held positions in multiple departments including the Laboratory including: Research, Endocrinology, Histology, Cytology and Phlebotomy, as well as the Operating Room-Anesthesiology. Her dynamic background lends itself to a greater understanding of organizational processes.
Deb has been certified by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals since 2004. Her primary responsibilities are all aspects of clinical coordination for Investigator initiated and industry sponsored trials. Deb maintains multiple studies in various disciplines across MaineHealth. Deb also serves as a liaison for both seasoned and new research medical staff. Conduct of research includes: drug, device, and Prevention, and Prognostic. Discipline experience includes: Diabetes, Surgery, Neonatal, Vascular, Psychiatric, Critical Care, Pediatric Pulmonary, Nephrology and Smoking Cessation.
