Maine Medical Center Research Institute is composed of basic and clinical research laboratories and health services research that support the research training of scientists, and scientists-in-training (postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and undergraduate students), professionals (physicians) and medical trainees (residents, medical students).
Education & Training at MMCRI
The research faculty at Maine Medical Center Research Institute have academic appointments at University of Maine at Orono, and The Tufts Sackler School. We provide graduate research training opportunities at the PhD level through these institutions, with thesis research performed in our basic science laboratories at the Scarborough research facility.
The Maine Medical Center is committed to providing continuing medical education (CME) and research opportunities for our medical staff and trainees. These opportunities include formal coursework, participation in clinical and basic research seminars,
The Center for Molecular Medicine at the Maine Medical Center Research Institute host a weekly seminar series with internationally renowned research scientists in the biomedical sciences. Everyone is welcome to attend these seminars, and continuing education credits are offered for attendance.
